The Averi Budde Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 to benefit St. Louis Children’s Hospital after the birth of Averi Rose Budde on May 25^th, 2007.  Averi was born a twin to Adison Paige Budde.  Averi was diagnosed with several heart defects including Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia, Arterial Septic Defect and Ventricular Septic Defects (holes in her heart).

The wonderful loving and dedicated nursing care Averi received in the CICU and 7 W units along with the warm way our family felt during Averi’s many stays at Children’s, knowing she was always in the best hands helped relieve her parents and enabled them to rest at home, if only for awhile, to spend time with Averi’s twin Adison.

Because of our wonderful experience with Children’s our family wanted to “give back”.  Averi’s Foundation was formed to provide nursing scholarships to the Cardiac Nurses at Children’s Hospital for continuing education.  We also provide financial support to Camp Rhythm and short term support to Children’s Hospital Heart Families in need.

Our first fund raiser was held in September of 2007 and was a huge success.  Blue Springs Ranch hosted a fundraiser Trail Ride.  The foundation was able to donate $18,000 to the scholarship fund.  We have held two fund-raisers since then.  Each of them made further contributions to the fund.  Our annual fundraiser will be the trail ride, which in 2008 raised $15,000 for the scholarship fund.  We will also do smaller fundraisers throughout the year to help the foundation in their effort to support “Families in Need,” at Children’s Hospital.

We feel that we are very blessed with the care that little Averi was given at Children’s Hospital.  We have made it our mission to show our thanks by giving back in any way we can.
