I was able to go to a Cardiovascular disease conference in Phoenix this past February, and I am one of seven lucky nurses who will be going to Miami in December to the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society meeting. As the clinical educator of the CICU, I have been able to share what I learned in Phoenix with the CICU staff. As a matter of fact, in Phoenix I saw a nurse researcher present information on a feeding protocol that we are now in the process of instituting in our unit. I'll keep you posted on what comes from attending the Miami meeting!

Family Support

Wyatt was our first beneficiary this year.  Wyatt received a new heart, and his family needed a place to stay while he recovered and waited for a biopsy.  The Averi Budde Foundation stepped in and helped out with the costs for lodging and food for the week.  We were happy to help such a loving and courageous family!  To learn more about Wyatt, please visit his site here.

Camp Rhythm

We are excited to be expanding the fund to help with Camp Rhythm, in conjunction with SLCH.  This camp is for children who have had heart surgeries, and allows them to enjoy summer camp under the supervision of Cardiologists and Nurses!
